With such a large area available within the Walled Garden, many activities will take place outdoors.
There will be plenty of fun to be had on the outdoor play equipment, which will be divided into distinct areas for different age groups. In the sheltered area between the building and the garden wall, there will be smaller climbing equipment for the youngest users as well as outdoor table tennis. Venturing out into the Walled Garden, there will be plenty of facilities for children to climb, swing and balance to their heart’s content. Each age-specific play area will have a variety of equipment, ranging from a sand box and a toddler swing through to climbing frames, spinning poles, slides, climbing walls and balance beams.
The two ‘Multi-Use Games Areas’ (MUGAs) will provide surfaces suitable for junior sports such as football, basketball and tennis, whether in organised sessions or for informal play. The water fun will also continue outside, with a splash playground where jets of water and brightly coloured fountains will be a magnet for excited children, particularly on warm sunny days.
Directly in front of the new building will be a large lawn, perfect for children to run around and play games on. The more distant areas will provide quieter areas for picnics and relaxation.
