This car was ordered from Aston Martin Sales Limited by W.G. Haydon-Baillie, Esq. in March 1988 and was the first production chassis of the new Vantage model due for showing in 1990. An exacting and very special specification— in line with Mr. Haydon-Baillie’s previous Vantage motor cars – was agreed upon and scheduled for build as follows:-
Exterior Colour: Special Haydon Baillie Blue (to sample)
Leather: Dark Blue Nuella 3282
Carpets: Midnight Blue edged 8500 Black Leather
Veneers: Darkest possible Walnut to be selected
Production Extras: Dash top roll, rear parcel shelf, gear lever knob/gaiter in Dark Blue 3282 Nuella Leather
Driver’s Airbag
Additional sound deadening to all interior and boot flat panels around gear lever and transmission tunnel
Additional lead sound deadening underlay to engine bulkhead
Underside of dash top roll to be felt-lined
Front and Rear Side marker lights
Omit standard audio equipment from production build
When special production was completed at the end of 1994, this unique car was transferred to the Works Service Department for these additional ordered works:-
Fitment of bespoke sunroof
Manufacture and fitments of full rollover bar trimmed in matching 3282 Nuella leather
Mounting/fitting ‘Williams F1’ racing harness in addition to standard front/rear seat belts (currently not installed)
Sports Exhaust System
Aston Martin Over-mats
Registration Number etched to all glass
Bespoke Sony In-Car Hi-Fi System with uprated speakers, amplifiers
Hersham aerial and cross-over mounting head restraint speakers, including switch-over control
The car was first registered on M340 MHM on 12th April 1995 and delivered to Mr. Haydon-Baillie at his London home, Cope House, which adjoins Kensington Palace.
