What Car? Awards 2020 Roundup

Among the most distinguished automotive awards in the industry, the What Car? Car of the Year Awards once again delivered some headline-grabbing winners across a range of categories.

The Ford Puma won the Car of the Year award with judges commending its driveability, clever packaging and reasonable price. Another contributing factor was its performance in What Car?’s independent True MPG tests, which showed it to be extremely economical in real-world driving, thanks to its mild hybrid technology.

Victory at the 2020 What Car? Car of the Year Awards marks the sixth time Ford has taken home this top accolade – but it’s also the first time it has won since 2009, when it triumphed with the Ford Fiesta.

The Audi TT was crowned the best coupe for strong performance, a good balance between ride and handling and excellent build quality, among other factors.

It was the BMW 3 Series which was named the Best Plug-In Hybrid in a category which is seeing stiffer competition every year. It was a successful night for the marque, with its bigger 5 Series being named the Best Luxury Car.

The Land Rover Defender won the coveted Reader Award voted for by the public.
