Motoring Open Evening Review

Both newcomers and motoring veterans joined together in Pall Mall on Thursday 26 January for the Club’s Motoring Open Evening, to learn all about the plans for 2017 and how they can get involved. With the Motoring Committee and the Motoring Team in attendance, it was the perfect opportunity for those new to the Club, or those who hadn’t previously been involved in motoring activities, to ask questions and enjoy the company of fellow motoring enthusiasts.

Chairman of the Motoring Committee, Peter Read, began the evening with a welcome to members and guests. As well as running through a few highlights from 2016, Peter gave an update (as well as a few teasers) about what’s in store for the rest of the year.

With a number of the Club’s coveted trophies on display in the centre of the room, including the prestigious British Grand Prix trophy, members and their guests enjoyed canapés and refreshments whilst checking out the different stands around the room. Whether it was signing up for the next Consistency Trial, challenging each other on the racing simulator and scalextric track, or having a look through a few fascinating items from the archive, there was plenty to get involved in. For anyone who may have considered participating in the 1000 Mile Trial or the Veteran Car Run, representatives from HERO Events and Goose were also there to answer any questions.
