Dear Fellow Singers,
We are delighted to confirm that Club Choir rehearsals will commence next month, leading up to a Christmas Carol Concert broadcast live on the Club website to Club members on Wednesday 9 December. This decision has been taken after extensive consultations with the Club, in accordance with the Club’s safe-distancing guidelines and Government guidance for community choirs.
As the Pall Mall clubhouse is subject to Tier 2 rules, the Club has decided to hold all Choir activities at the Woodcote Park clubhouse.
To ensure numbers are managed and social distancing is maintained, you must book your place at any rehearsal, which can be done by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Please see the table below to check when each voice will be rehearsed and book your place accordingly.
To limit numbers at rehearsals, the Choir Director – Ian Holiday – will hold some rehearsals separately for each voice (see the table below). The full Choir will rehearse together in the Cedar Room which can accommodate at least 50 singers seated well apart in accordance with safe-distancing guidelines.
To meet safety requirements, you must arrive at and leave each rehearsal individually, maintaining social distancing at all times and wearing a mask whilst moving around the clubhouse.
You will be given a special-purpose Singer’s Face Mask which will be yours to keep. These masks are designed so that your breathing remains normal while singing. Masks must be worn throughout all rehearsals and the concert. Unfortunately, we will be unable to allow anyone to attend a rehearsal subsequently without the singer’s mask, as wearing it forms part of the Risk Assessment for this activity.
It will not be possible this year to have the usual audience inside the Cedar Room for the Christmas Carol Concert on Wednesday 9 December. Instead, the concert will be broadcast live on the Club website, with the Choir spaced out across the whole of the Cedar Room.
Here are the planned rehearsal dates and times. We encourage as many of you as possible to attend all five rehearsals, which will allow us to create the best possible performance on Wednesday 9 December!

You will be able to use these to help with learning the music and words ahead of each rehearsal. Please email Ian directly using email@example.com if you would like to use these practice recordings before your first rehearsal.
Well over 60 Choir members have indicated they are interested in joining us for the 2020 Christmas Carol Concert. We look forward to seeing you all!
