Autumn Breakfast Drive-In 2017

Autumn Breakfast Drive-In 2017

Despite an overcast start to the day, more than 50 members’ cars filtered on to the Cedar Lawn at Woodcote Park on Saturday 23 September, for the final Drive-In of 2017.

The Autumn Breakfast Drive-In welcomed a stunning variety of classic and modern machines to the Lawn, from a Triumph TR3, a BMW 3.0 CSL and a Martini Racing Porsche 935, through to an Aston Martin V8, Lamborghini Diablo and a McLaren 570 GT, demonstrating once again the diversity of age and manufacturer choice of our members’ vehicles.

More than 170 members and their guests joined us for the morning, where they were able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before chatting to fellow members on the Cedar Lawn and looking under the bonnets of fellow Club member vehicles. One car that caught our attention was an exquisite 1983 MkI Golf GTi owned by Club member Gordon Brown, displayed in pristine condition. It was one of the best examples of this original hot hatch that we have seen, including the original dealer plates with the London telephone number prefix of ‘01’.

As the morning came to an end, many members dropped into the Motor House on their way home, taking the time to look at our heritage fleet and the wonderful displays the Motor House now contains.
