British Racing Drivers’ Club
The British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) is arguably the most exclusive club in motor racing. The Guild of Motoring Writers
The Guild of Motoring Writers is the world’s largest organisation for automotive editorial professionals, including journalists, writers, editors, photographers, broadcasters, authors and publishers. It was established in 1944 at the Royal Automobile Club, and the Pall Mall clubhouse remains its headquarters. Strict membership criteria ensure all members are qualified professionals. The Guild has strong links with other professional organisations such as the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT) and the Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA).

The UK’s longest-established motoring services organisation with over a hundred years of experience, the RAC was owned by the members of the Royal Automobile Association until RAC Motoring Services was bought in 1999 by a company now called RAC Ltd, which is separate from and completely independent of the Club. Best known for its breakdown service, the RAC also offers insurance, legal and technical advice, and real-time travel information.

The RAC Foundation is a charitable organisation that explores the economic, mobility, safety and environmental issues relating to roads and the use of motor vehicles, and campaigns to secure a fair deal for responsible road users. Now a separate organisation from the Royal Automobile Club, the Royal Automobile Club Foundation for Motoring Ltd was granted its legacy in 1999, when members of the Club sold RAC Motoring Services. The Royal Automobile Club keeps a close relationship with the charity, however, and the RAC Foundation’s headquarters are at the Pall Mall clubhouse.
