Sub-Aqua Welcome Back Try Dives and Barbeque Supper
Pall Mall, Swimming Pool and Committee Room
Saturday 25 September, 3.30pm, try dives and skills refresher (sold out)
Saturday 25 September, 5.30pm, champagne reception and barbecue
The Sub Aqua Committee is delighted to invite you to our first in-person event since early 2020. It’s time to put on the type of mask we all love to wear (not the boring ones) and jump in a body of water bigger than our bathtubs for the first time in over a year. This day is long overdue.
- Try Dives and Skills Refresher in the Swimming Pool from 3.30 until 5.00pm. This is your chance to learn the basics of scuba diving and why we love it so much, all in the shark-free waters of the deep end of the pool OR if you are already a diver, you can brush up on your diving skills if you, like us, have not had a tank on for far too long. This will be supervised by our BSAC-trained instructors.
- Champagne Reception in the Committee Room starting at 5.30pm. We all need to see each other again without staring into a computer screen to do it. We are offering the very libations and conversations of which we have been starved for months. You will be welcomed with a glass of champagne upon arrival and be able to chat with old friends and make new friends, learn more about our section, complete with videos of our past diving trips and hear of our exciting plans for the rest of this year including our next trips. A cash bar will be on offer for additional drinks.
- Barbecue Supper in the Committee Room at 6.30pm. We will be laying on a three-course buffet supper with house wine when you can swap diving stories, and we can relive our memories of why a fellow diver won the Golden Flipper Award and who we think deserves it next!
