Christian Horner, team principal of the Red Bull Formula 1 team which scooped the 2010 Drivers and Constructors titles, was in great form when he starred at the Club’s Annual Motoring Dinner on Thursday 24 February. With the Mountbatten Room at capacity and Ben Cussons, Chairman of the Motoring Committee firing the questions, it was a lively evening which provided a real insight into Formula 1.
With lots of changes in F1 this year the audience were treated to Christian’s thoughts on the new Pirelli tyres, the radical new exhaust systems being tried by teams, the movable wings and lots more. While he said there would be challenges for the drivers and team - he promised another great year’s Formula 1 racing for the fans.
Guests included Graham Stoker, FIA Deputy President (Sport), Alan Gow, President of the FIA Touring Car Commission, David Ward, Director General of the FIA Foundation and Colin Hilton, CEO of the MSA - plus a host of well known personalities from motoring and motorsports.
Host Ben Cussons was paid a final compliment by Christian - -‘you’re better than Eddie Jordan..’
