Best Initiative to Attract People to be a Chef Award.

A sell-out audience of 600 people from across the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry attended the Springboard Awards for Excellence 2010 at the beautiful Lancaster London last night (29 November 2010). The highlight of the night was the Royal Automobile Club being announced as the winner of this year’s Best Initiative to Attract People to be a Chef Award.

Judges unanimously believed that they were deserved winners of this award. They were praised for their close relationship with schools and colleges, developing and encouraging young people to enter into a career in catering.

Philip Corrick, Executive Chef of the Royal Automobile Club said “Winning this award is a huge recognition of the ‘Team collaboration’ that the Club fosters between the Clubhouse Kitchens, operational departments and Human Resources. The Club places great emphasis on encouraging young people into the hospitality industry. We have a responsibility to the youth of today and to our industry to demonstrate the opportunities that exist in such a great profession.
