1000 Mile Trial–don’t miss it!

Whether you will drive or just want to soak up the atmosphere of wonderful pre-WWII motoring, take note of the Royal Automobile Club 1000 Mile Trial which starts from the Woodcote Park clubhouse on Sunday 13 July. The organisers, HERO Events, have an enviable reputation of running such motoring events, and have planned a six-day route which will delight you and include lunch halts at some wonderful venues and classic, surprising, overnight halts.

Entries are limited, we already have some very rare cars including a 1932 Rolls-Royce Phantom II, a 1935 Bentley Derby Special, a 1934 Triumph 8C, plus Aston Martins, Rileys and more. See the current list of cars here.

The halfway halt will be in Edinburgh with dinner on the Royal Yacht Britannia, the most northerly point of the clockwise tour, which sees cars return down the east side of the country, for the finale back at Woodcote Park on Saturday 19 July.

Potential entrants should note that while the 1000 Mile Trial is a regularity competition, it will be structured to suit all levels of experience and the organisers know that some entrants inevitably turn up and enjoy the route at a more leisurely pace – and acknowledge that they were probably not going to win anyway!
