Elections Process

The Elections Committee meets once or twice each month (except August) and reviews a number of applications from the top of the current waiting list. Applicants may be requested to attend an interview with the Elections Committee at one of their future meetings.

These candidates will be advised of this immediately following the meeting where this decision is taken, and can make their appointments at the earliest opportunity. The Committee considers the recommendations of the Elections Committee, and approves the final decision with regard to each application.  Candidates are informed about the result of their application.

Total time from application to outcome is approximately ten to eleven months, depending upon the current waiting list, whether the applicant is the child or spouse/civil partner of a member, and whether a candidate is one of those selected for interview.
