Welcome to the website pages of the Ladies Luncheon Committee.
Ladies Lunch Update
The Ladies Lunch Committee was established some thirty years ago by Jess Beattie-Edwards at the suggestion of her husband, Tom Beattie-Edwards, who was then Chairman of Woodcote Park.
A small gathering of ladies would meet in one of the first floor function rooms for lunch and listen to a speaker. Over the years it has grown considerably and now around 200 ladies attend the five lunches per year, held in March, May, August, October and December.
The Committee tries to vary the guest speakers between serious and frivolous topics and we have been entertained by many famous people over the years. Musical entertainers, chefs, T.V presenters, stars of the stage and screen have all featured as well as the occasional fashion show.
If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the Ladies Luncheon Club, please contact Elaine Goater in the Events Team at Woodcote Park who will add you to the mailing list and send you some further information.
Keep a look out for your invitation, which will be sent out approximately 6 weeks prior to each lunch. Please be aware that these events are very popular and bookings are processed on a first come, first served basis. Upon receipt of your slip a confirmation letter will be sent out in the post, please note if you do not receive a confirmation or a waitlist letter you will need to contact Elaine Goater in the Events Team at Woodcote Park.
The second lunch of the year was held on May 9, with Head Chef Howar Bisset, producing a wonderful spring lunch. Afterwards all the ladies thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous fashion show hosted by the luxury fashion house LK Bennett. Nick and Karen produced a marvellous show of different clothing for various events all beautifully co-ordinated with shoes, hats, handbags and some jewellery. LK Bennett also very kindly gave all the Ladies a 20% off voucher to use in their shops or on-line.
Our next lunch will be on Wednesday 25 July, when Head Chef Howard, will be treating us to a superb hot and cold summer buffet. Basil Preuveneers will be playing the piano and taking requests from the ladies. This is the only lunch of the year where we invite members to bring along a guest. We do hope that you will be able to make it and look forward to seeing you and your guest in July.
Many thanks,
Jacky
Chairman Ladies Luncheon Committee
Jacky Zinn – Chairman
I took over as Chairman of the Committee in December 2011 after our Christmas Lunch, having been on the committee for 8 years. I have very much enjoyed my first year in the chair and am looking forward to the next one, working with the Committee, Staff and Management organising some very exciting lunches. I have been a member of the Club for 19 years and have enjoyed many of the events during that time. I am an active member of both the golf and tennis sections and have represented the Club in both areas.
