Cricket

  • ‘That was a tremendous six, the ball was still in the air as it went over the boundary’. Fred Truman

The Club's "Autocrat" cricket team is made up of a lively bunch of Club members happy to indulge in some competitive cricket whether in retirement or just out of university. With backgrounds from county to club to university and school 1st XI teams, the diverse mix of players makes for enjoyable and spirited matches. Similarly our season's eleven fixtures provide an eclectic mix of opponents from areas of media, law, finance, sport and of course there’s the hotly contested Staff v. Members game annually down at Epsom CC near Woodcote Park.

    How to get involved
If any members would like to join our merry throng you would be most welcome, taking pleasure from the game is what we are all seeking to do so whether player, scorer, umpire or cranky bench bound critic so do come along. Indeed if you have club side or a scratch xi you would like to pitch against the ‘Autocrats’ we would be delighted to accommodate your challenge.
